A psychological thriller with a deep paranormal mystery, The Wedding Gift is set in a small mid western town. Told in the voice of Leann Worthier, a high school senior, local pageant queen, and self-proclaimed prettiest girl in town. She is preparing for her wedding and the birth of her child. But Leann wasn’t good enough for her upper- crust in laws so they gave her the family mansion that none of them wanted for her wedding gift. The mansion is filled with ghosts and a legacy of killing.
Combing horror with humor with mystery and suspense, The Wedding Gift is supernatural tale written by a gifted story teller.
Kathleen McKenna is a lifetime Alaskan and a former social worker. After relocating to New Mexico she claims so that she could find out if it was true that there were places with actual daylight she began writing full time. The Wedding Gift is her first novel and is based on stories from her grandma Ruth who always claimed to be "the prettiest girl ever born in Norman, Oklahoma" as well as the authors own wild imagaination. The sequel to The Weddding Gift, The Comeback starring her Dalton girls will be released by Belle Bridge late in 2012 or early 2013.
"...a clear picture of Leeann Worthier as a cross between Gone with the Wind’s Scarlet O’Hara and Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf where southern belle meets urban chic…Few diaries are as juicy as Leeann Worthier’s and as much fun to read."

"The superb opening and closing sections use newspaper clippings that read like real deadly incidents, which sets the atmospheric tone of the small-town supernatural thriller...this is an engaging haunted house tale."
